5. Common Symptoms & Troubleshooting
Hydraulic Fluid Leaking Around the Ram Shaft:
Cause: Worn or hardened main rod seal inside the cap, or scored seal lips caused by grit on the extended ram.
Troubleshooting: Inspect the cylinder ram for fluid residue during operation; if oil weeps out during trimming/tilting, replace the cylinder cap assembly.
Engine Drifting Down Under Load (Loss of Holding Pressure):
Cause: Deteriorated outer O-ring or blown internal rod seal allowing high-pressure fluid to bypass the cylinder chamber.
